Presented at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the hatch inaugurates a new phase for the GTi lineage by combining sporting tradition and electrification
Peugeot officially presented the new E-208 GTi during the 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking the return of one of the most emblematic acronyms in its history and inaugurating a new phase for the GTi family. The model arrives as the first all-electric GTi produced by the French brand. The launch also coincides with a symbolic date for the manufacturer, which celebrates 100 years of its first participation in Le Mans.
The debut comes a year after the presentation of the E-208 GTi concept at the same event. Faced with the positive reception from enthusiasts and customers, Peugeot decided to transform the prototype into a production vehicle, maintaining much of the visual characteristics and the original proposal.

Developed in partnership between the Peugeot Sport and Peugeot Design teams, the new hatch seeks to carry the legacy of the iconic Peugeot 205 GTi into the electric era. The proposal is to combine driving pleasure, technology and practicality without giving up the sporty identity that consecrated the acronym GTi.
Visually, the E-208 GTi maintains the sporty identity presented in the concept. To highlight its French origins, Peugeot exhibited the model in blue, white and red, in addition to the hatch brings athletic proportions and exclusive elements that differentiate it from the other versions of the E-208 line.
Although the manufacturer has not yet released all the technical data and performance figures, the promise is of a set capable of honoring the legacy of the GTi acronym. At the very least, a more vigorous set is expected than the 136 hp and 26,5 kgfm of the late e-208 GT, which had a short life in the Brazilian market.
