Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross GLS costs R$ 155.990 but gives up the multimedia center

Mitsubishi expanded the Eclipse Cross line with the GLS version, the new entry door to the medium SUV, at R$ 155.990. The value is R$ 21 thousand lower than the Rush (R$ 176.990), until then the cheapest configuration in the range, and arrives about three months after the debut of the 2027 line in Brazil.

The account, however, has a counterpart in the equipment list: the GLS leaves the factory without the 10.25″ multimedia center, offered as standard only from the Rush, and also gives up the reversing camera and the USB type A port at the front.

In its place are four speakers in the doors and sound preparation, with an electrical harness. The seats are covered in fabric, as in the Rush, and the configurator on the brand’s website has a single paint option: Fuji solid white.

What remains standard

Even in the cheapest configuration, the SUV maintains seven airbags (front, side, curtain and knee), 18″ alloy wheels with black paint, LED daytime running lights, digital air conditioning, cruise control, electronic stability and traction controls, tire pressure sensor, on-board computer with color screen and leather-covered steering wheel.

The 1.5 turbo MIVEC gasoline engine remains and delivers 165 hp and 25,5 kgfm, always associated with the CVT automatic transmission with eight simulated gears. The GLS is offered only with front-wheel drive. The suspension follows the standard of the line, independent McPherson at the front and multilink with coil springs at the rear.

The dimensions are the same as the entire Eclipse Cross: 4.54 m long, 1.80 m wide, 1.68 m high and 2.60 m wheelbase, with 21.5 cm of ground clearance. Mitsubishi has not yet released the homologated consumption of the new version; in the other front-wheel drive configurations, the numbers are 10.3 km/l in the city and 11.3 km/l on the highway, with gasoline.

Medium SUV at compact

price The price cut changes the model’s competitive address. At R$ 155.990, the Eclipse Cross GLS now competes in the same range as intermediate versions of compact SUVs, such as the Volkswagen T-Cross 200 TSI (R$ 152.890) and the Hyundai Creta Comfort (R$ 156.590). It beats these rivals in size and power, but loses in standard content.

The strategy tries to revive a name that has lost traction in the segment. From January to August 2026, the Eclipse Cross sold 4,975 units in the country, a volume far from that recorded by direct competitors in the same period: Jeep Compass (36,431), Toyota Corolla Cross (25,564) and Caoa Chery Tiggo 7 (17,964).
