Mini JCW GP Inspired arrives in Brazil for R$ 389.990 with only 20 units

Mini has put on sale in Brazil the JCW GP Inspired, a limited series of 20 units with a suggested price of R$ 389,990. Based on the John Cooper Works hatch, the special edition does not bring power gain: the changes focus on the paint, graphics and finishing items.

The model is already at the brand’s dealerships across the country and made its first public appearance at the Interlagos Festival. According to the manufacturer, the series was developed for customers looking for a more striking combination between sportiness and exclusivity within the John Cooper Works line.

What changes on the outside

The bodywork always comes in Legend Grey paint, combined with Chili Red details on the roof, mirror caps, wheels and wheel arches. The side receives the GP Inspired sticker and the C-pillar gains graphics that reproduce the layout of well-known circuits in world motorsport.

The package also includes JCW rear spoiler , sports exhaust and 18-inch JCW Lap Spoke alloy wheels with diamond finish. In the cabin, the differences are restricted to specific door sills and an exclusive key cover. The rest follows the standard of the sports line, with sports seats and black upholstery with red details.

Mechanics are the same as the JCW line

Under the hood is the 2.0 TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine, with 231 hp and 38,7 kgfm, associated with the dual-clutch sports automatic transmission, with fins on the steering wheel. The drive is front. The performance figures released by MINI repeat those of the conventional hatch : 0 to 100 km/h in 6,1 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.

Nothing to do with the original GPs

Despite the name, the series should not be confused with the John Cooper Works GP, a lineage of radical versions started in 2006. The most recent, from 2020, reached 306 hp and 45,9 kgfm, gave up the rear seats to save weight and accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,2 seconds. There were 3,000 units in the world, 25 of them destined for Brazil, then sold at R$ 299,990.

Compared to the present, the GP Inspired costs about R$ 34 thousand more than the John Cooper Works line hatch , priced at R$ 355.990 – a difference that corresponds to the aesthetic package and restricted production, without mechanical changes announced by the brand.
