Jetour sold the 700 units of the first batch of the Jetour T2 4×4 XWD in less than 15 days, the automaker said. The plug-in hybrid SUV, the brand’s top of the line in Brazil, was presented in the last week of July and is the first Chinese model in the country with all-wheel drive.

The result is a relevant indicator for a brand that arrived in Brazil earlier this year, but says little about the sustainability of sales: the electrified SUV segment receives launches at a fast pace, especially from Chinese manufacturers.

In view of the demand, Jetour opened an additional lot and maintained the launch price, of R$ 339.900, until August 15. Once the condition is over, the list value is R$ 349,900. The 4×2 versions continue at R$ 289.900 (Advance) and R$ 299.900 (Premium).

Four motors and no gimbal

The arrival of the XWD responds to a recurring criticism since the brand’s debut in Brazil: the three models initially launched had only front-wheel drive. The adopted solution dispenses with the cardan shaft. The rear axle now receives a third electric motor, with 238 hp and 31,6 kgfm, coupled to a reducer and a differential — the distribution of force between the axles is done by electronics, not by mechanical transmission.

On the front axle, the architecture is the same as the 4×2 version: the 1.5 turbo gasoline with 135 hp and 20,4 kgfm, which works in the Miller cycle and operates mainly as a generator, plus two electric motors of 102 hp and 122 hp. The sum results in the 597 hp and 91,7 kgfm announced — numbers that Jetour itself points out are the total installed power, that is, the addition of individual values, and not simultaneous delivery. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is declared in 5.5 seconds.

Battery larger than that of many electric cars

CATL’s 43.2 kWh battery surpasses that of several 100% electric hatches sold in the country and allows you to run up to 106 km without activating the combustion engine. The declared combined range reaches 1,300 km. On a 40 kW fast charger, recharging from 20% to 80% takes 36 minutes; in a 7 kW wallbox , 3 hours and 56 minutes.

For off-road use, the T2 XWD features eight driving modes, electronic rear differential lock, descent control, crawl mode and the Tank Turn feature, which locks the inner rear wheel to reduce the turning radius in tight maneuvers. The free span is 20.5 cm, the attack and departure angles are 28 and 30 degrees, and the brand reports the ability to overcome flooding of up to 70 cm.

The main direct rival is the GWM Tank 300, advertised for around R$ 342 thousand. Jetour projects to end 2026 with 102 dealerships and announced R$ 400 million in research and development to adapt products to the Brazilian market, including flex engines. The definition of a factory in the country should come out by the end of the year.
