Combined loss of supercars surpasses $1 million mark; drivers were unharmed by the accident
A collision involving two super sports and highly exclusive models of Lamborghini resulted in the destruction of both vehicles on the outskirts of Houston, Texas (USA). The accident of millionaire proportions involved a light blue Aventador S and a recently launched Revuelto with purple paint. Despite the severity of the impact and the subsequent fire in one of the cars, local authorities confirmed that the two drivers were completely unharmed.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Texas State Highway 99 and Jack Road. According to the records of the rescue teams, the Fire Department found the cars severely damaged upon arriving at the scene. The Aventador S had already been widely consumed by flames. The fire almost completely destroyed the model equipped with a V12 engine, leaving only part of the front bumper in a recognizable state.

The Revuelto, the Italian automaker’s newest hybrid exponent and which boasted a customized aesthetic configuration, had its entire front section crushed. The kinetic energy of the impact was strong enough to rip off body parts and push the left wheel, along with the suspension components, into the cabin.

The dynamics of the accident raised questions about the behavior of drivers. Witnesses traveling on the highway reported seeing the two super sports cars accelerating side by side minutes before the disaster, escorted by a red pickup. The main suspicion is that the vehicles were participating in a capture of photographs and videos on a public road at the time the drivers lost control.

Surveys carried out in North American automotive forums indicate that the Revuelto may belong to the IYKYK Garage customization workshop, based in Houston, which had announced the acquisition of an identical example about four months ago.
The estimate of the financial loss easily exceeds the US$ 1.2 million mark (approximately R$ 6.05 million at the current exchange rate). In the luxury market in the United States, a semi-new Aventador S is traded in the range of US$ 500 thousand (R$ 2,52 million). The brand new Revuelto, in turn, floats close to US$ 700 thousand (R$ 3,53 million). These values represent only the original cost, without accounting for the heavy extra investments in aesthetic and mechanical modifications lost in the asphalt.
