DS Automobiles has presented the DS N°7 ÉLYSÉE, the new official vehicle of the Presidency of the French Republic and the first 100% electric model to occupy the role. The debut took place at the parade on July 14, the date that celebrates the fall of the Bastille, when the SUV joined the presidential fleet for the first time alongside the head of state.

Developed from the DS N°7 AWD Long Range, the model received a wheelbase 25 cm larger than the standard version, exclusive hydropneumatic suspension and integral armor that meets the specifications of the Presidency. The rear cab has been entirely redesigned to function as a mobile office, with adjustable opacity side windows, removable flag holders, special light signaling and additional safety equipment.

Under the bodywork, the E-TENSE set combines two electric motors that, according to DS, deliver 350 hp and all-wheel drive, powered by a 97.2 kWh battery. The manufacturer claims that the architecture was calibrated to combine performance, comfort and quiet operation during official commutes.

The exterior reinforces the French identity. The bodywork debuts the exclusive Liberty Blue color, while the illuminated DS LUMINASCREEN grille reproduces the blue, white and red of the national flag — repeated tones in the hood emblem, tailgate trim and wheel center caps.

Inside, the handcrafted finish appears in the Nappa leather, Alcantara and ash wood of the dashboard, laser-engraved with the effigy of Marianne, symbol of the Republic. The embroidered “RF” acronym and pearlescent tricolor stitching complete the exclusive details of the project.

The DS N°7 ÉLYSÉE also works as a showcase for the national industry: according to the company, the armoring was in charge of Centigon, in Brittany; the battery left the ACC, in Hauts-de-France; the engines came from the Grand-Est; and the suspension was developed in Occitania.

The partnership between DS and the Élysée Palace dates back more than six decades. The link began with the DS 19 used by General Charles de Gaulle and the presidential sedans prepared by Chapron, in a tradition that now gains an electric chapter.

The presentation also marks the public debut of the DS N°7, the SUV that will replace the DS 7 in the brand’s lineup. The model arrives in hybrid and 100% electric versions, the latter with a range of up to 740 km in the WLTP cycle, according to the manufacturer. Sales start in September in Europe.
