Despite criticism, new electric Ferrari is already sold out at dealerships
1,050 hp electric sedan sold out of 2026 global quota in two months, with China accounting for the bulk of orders

Ferrari sold the entire production of the Luce scheduled for 2026 about two months after presenting the model, the first 100% electric in the brand’s history. According to the Financial Times, the goal of just under 500 units was reached in early July, mainly driven by demand from China — and before the first delivery to a customer.
Deliveries only begin in the last quarter. In China, more than 500 people have already ordered Luce, and most of them should only receive the car in 2027. The United States comes next.

The commercial performance contrasts with the reception of the launch, which took place in Rome on May 25. Fans of the Italian brand criticized the absence of the roar of the combustion engines and, above all, the design of the car. Former president Luca di Montezemolo told the Italian press that Ferrari should at least remove the Cavallino Rampante from the model. Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini wrote on X that the car does not look like a Ferrari.
Market reacted badly, but returned the fall
In the trading session following the presentation, on May 26, Ferrari shares fell 8.37% in Milan and 5.3% in New York. Analysts attributed the pullback to design disappointment and profit-taking after the rally leading up to the event. The shares regained some ground in the following weeks.

The sold-out batch is small by choice: just under 500 cars are a fraction of the 13,640 units delivered by Ferrari in 2025. The long-term goal is to reach around 2,500 Luces by 2030 — an average of 600 per year, close to 5% of annual sales. According to the Financial Times, the brand advised dealerships not to pressure collectors to migrate to electric, and Chief Executive Benedetto Vigna said it was not necessary to offer discounts.
Four engines and 1,050 hp
Sold from R$ 3.2 million (550 thousand euros), the Luce has four doors – the rear ones with inverted opening – five seats and 5.026 m long. There are four independent electric motors, one per wheel, which add up to 1,050 hp and guarantee all-wheel drive. The 122 kWh battery, with 800-volt architecture, integrates the floor structure, accepts recharging of up to 350 kW — 70 kWh in 20 minutes, according to the manufacturer — and yields 530 km of autonomy in the WLTP cycle, still in homologation.

Despite the 2.260 kg, the brand declares 0 to 100 km/h in 2,5 seconds and a maximum above 310 km/h. The design is from the LoveFrom studio, by Jony Ive and Marc Newson, both ex-Apple. With no center tunnel, the cabin combines leather, recycled aluminum, Gorilla Glass and OLED screens made with Samsung Display.
The first unit produced, Chassis 0, customized by the Tailor Made program, will be auctioned at RM Sotheby’s during Monterey Car Week, in California, between August 13 and 15. It leaves without a reserve price, with estimated bids above US$ 1.1 million (about R$ 5.6 million) and proceeds reverted to the Ferrari Foundation.
