Superhero movies have become the stage for advertising various products. BMW has signed a deal to promote its cars in Spider-Man: A New Day, which included putting the new iX3 on the red carpet during the premiere.

But this has already become a problem for owners of newer models of the Bavarian brand. A 20-second advertisement for the film is displayed in the multimedia center when you start the car.

This animation was included through a remote update for all cars with operating system 7 or newer, made from 2020 onwards. It is available in more than 70 countries, according to an official note from the brand.

It was announced that the BMW iX3 and i5 will have relevant participations in the Spider-Man movie. In previous films this type of participation was for Audi cars, which sponsored Marvel movies.

BMW has previously been criticized for charging a subscription for car functions, such as heating the seats. The brand seems to be betting on services for this digital age and may include advertising in cars.

Ford already has patents to place advertising in the multimedia center of its cars based on the conversations of the occupants and geographic location. The record also includes the use of voice commands to change advertising.

In recent years, manufacturers have begun to offer connected services, which require a car’s connection to the internet and a monthly fee. Will in-flight advertising create more expensive subscription plans to remove them? Only time will tell.
