Aston Martin makes its most radical SUV, with V12 and armor, but it only exists within a game; understand

Aston Martin has unveiled the Dreadnought, a fully digital military SUV created exclusively for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Developed in partnership with Infinity Ward and Activision, the concept takes the British manufacturer’s visual identity and performance to the game’s universe — with an important detail: it is not for sale and exists only within the game.

Designed by the same team responsible for some of the brand’s most celebrated models, the Dreadnought was conceived without the limitations of the real world, which allowed it to explore shapes, materials and technologies that were unfeasible in a production car. The proposal, according to the manufacturer, was to translate Aston Martin’s DNA into a machine with super sports car performance capable of facing the combat scenarios of the new title in the franchise.

In the Modern Warfare 4 universe, the SUV bets on all-wheel drive — described by the developers as the most aggressive in the game —, armored exterior with ballistic protection plates, dedicated compartment for weapons and backup fuel tanks. The experience is completed by the simulation of the roar of a V12 engine, reproduced by the game’s physics engine to reinforce the connection with the brand’s sports cars. At launch, the model will be found at strategic points in DMZ and Warzone modes.

Despite the military footprint, the concept preserves traditional Aston Martin elements. The bodywork is painted in Chiltern Green and is finished in carbon fiber exterior with a ‘herringbone’ weave, while the interior combines Oxford Tan leather upholstery, carbon fiber details and a gear selector with a metallic gold finish.

The name Dreadnought refers to both the English expression that means “to fear nothing” and the historic HMS Dreadnought, a British battleship launched in the early twentieth century that revolutionized military shipbuilding and baptized a whole new class of warships.

For Aston Martin, the action is part of a brand diversification strategy, with the aim of getting closer to a younger audience and potential luxury customers through games. It’s not the first foray of its kind: the British company had already created the DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo, a mid-engine concept with almost 811 hp for the Gran Turismo 6 game. A full-size model of the Dreadnought will be exhibited at Fanatics Fest in New York City. Twenty-third title in the series, Modern Warfare 4 arrives on October 23, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the standard edition at $69,99 in the United States.
