Deadlines for payment of the annual renewal fee began in March and run until December; see how to pay in person or online
The Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (CRLV) must be renewed annually. This occurs automatically with the payment of the Motor Vehicle Property Tax (IPVA) and the Annual Vehicle Licensing Renewal Fee (TRLAV). The Ceará Traffic Department (Detran-CE) has already released the dates and values of the 2026 licensing.
The charges have already started and today (10) is the due date for vehicles with license plate end 2. Once paid, the new document can be accessed through the CNH do Brasil application, the service portal of the National Traffic Secretariat (Senatran) or the Detran website.

The DMV-CE established the TRLAV payment schedule that varies according to the end of the vehicle’s license plate and began in March. For passenger cars, motorcycles, buses, trucks and other types of vehicles, the deadlines are:
For the process to be complete and the driver to be able to issue the CRLV, in addition to paying the fee, it is necessary that he has also paid the IPVA and all traffic fines and pending issues associated with the vehicle.
TRLAV in Ceará has a value of R$ 188.96 for motorcycles and R$ 220.46 for other vehicles. Unlike the IPVA, which can be paid in installments, the licensing fee must be paid in a single quota. Payment can be made in person or online, with just a few details.
Since 2020, the CRLV has been issued in digital format. Statements can be issued through the Meu Detran application, through the official website of Detran-CE or at the Service Center, with the ease of instant payment via Pix.
The slips are also forwarded by the Post Office to the registered address. It is worth mentioning that failure to receive the correspondence does not exempt the taxpayer from paying the fee and other charges within the established deadline. In addition to digital channels, it is possible to go to any Detran-CE service station to issue the ticket.
Attention: the DMV-CE reinforces that citizens should be aware of scam attempts. The traffic agency does not send text messages, emails or billing links through social networks or messaging apps.
After paying the fee, the document can be accessed through the Detran-CE portal, the federal government’s CNH do Brasil application or the Senatran service portal.
The driver can issue the car document through the CNH do Brasil app (former Digital Traffic Card – CDT), simply:
According to the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), driving with an expired CRLV is a very serious infraction, with a fine of R$ 293.47 and seven points on the National Driver’s License (CNH). In case of inspection, the vehicle is also subject to recall (removal).
