Two-wheeler sector maintains growth trajectory in Brazil, due to the last major rise in car prices
The production of motorcycles in Brazil continues at a fast pace in 2026. According to data from the Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Motorcycles, Mopeds, Motorcycles, Bicycles and Similar (Abraciclo), 561,448 motorcycles were manufactured in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM) during the first quarter of the year. This volume is 12.1% higher than that recorded in the same period last year.

The performance represents the second-best result in history for a first quarter, reinforcing the industry’s consistent pace.
The main highlight of motorcycle production was the month of March, which registered 212,716 units manufactured, the highest volume ever produced in a single month. The result indicates an increase of 34.5% compared to March last year and an increase of 29.6% compared to February.
According to the president of Abraciclo, Marcos Bento, the performance reflects the good moment of the motorcycle sector, driven by the growing demand for more affordable mobility alternatives.
Despite the positive performance, we remain attentive to the challenges expected for the year, especially with regard to the international scenario and the possibility of drought in the Amazon region. Even so, we maintain a perspective of continued growth throughout the year,” adds Bento.
Abraciclo projects that motorcycle production will reach 2.07 million units in 2026, which would represent an increase of 4.5% compared to the volume recorded in the previous year.
As of this month, Abraciclo has adopted a new classification for the motorcycle segment, with the aim of more accurately reflecting the evolution of the motorcycle industry in Brazil.
The new model divides the products into 14 categories, including segments such as Crossover, Classic, Super Sport and Sport Touring, in addition to the exclusion of the Custom category. The update follows changes in the consumption profile, the arrival of new technologies and the diversification of the offer of motorcycles in the Brazilian market.
Within this new division, Street motorcycles led production in the first quarter, with 290,340 units, equivalent to 51.7% of the total manufactured. Next come Trail motorcycles, with 112,031 units (20%), and scooters, with 73,600 units (13.1%).
