Ducati presented on February 25, on its global website and at the brand’s digital event, the second generation of the DesertX. The announcement was made directly from Borgo Panigale, the manufacturer’s headquarters, and marks the most in-depth update of the model since its commercial debut in 2021.

Derived from the concept shown at Eicma 2019, the Ducati DesertX consolidated the brand’s entry into the universe of big trails with a 21-inch front wheel. Now, the new phase arrives packed with the experience accumulated in races such as the Erzbergrodeo and the Norra 1000 Rally.
The main change is in the new 890 cm³ Ducati V2 engine, which delivers 110 hp and 9,4 kgf.m of torque. According to the brand, 70% of the maximum force already appears at 3.000 rpm, favoring use on trails and resumes at low revs. The first four gears have shorter ratios, while the sixth prioritizes comfort and economy when traveling.
The monocoque chassis maintains the engine as a structural element and integrates the airbox, a solution that increases rigidity and facilitates access to the filter. The suspension has been revised, with a new fully adjustable Kayaba fork and a rear system with progressive connecting rods.
The tubeless spoked wheels follow the standard of 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear, equipped with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires.
The 18-liter tank of the Ducati DesertX has become narrower and lighter, improving mass centralization. The seat height is 880 mm, with the option to reduce to 840 mm via kit.
In the electronic package, the DesertX features a six-axis IMU, four-level cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, adjustable engine brake and six riding modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro and Rally. The 5-inch TFT panel gained new display modes and two USB ports.
