BMW Motorrad will produce a special series of the R 1300 GS Adventure limited to ten units to mark the ten years of its plant in Manaus (AM). Each example will have its own visual identity, numbered commemorative plaque and the ASA automated transmission as standard. Price and arrival date at dealerships have not yet been defined, according to the brand’s press office in Brazil.
The choice of model has a reason for being. It was an R 1300 GS Adventure, in the Triple Black configuration, the 150 thousand motorcycle assembled in Manaus, a milestone announced by the company in early August. The big trail is also the brand’s reference in the Adventure segment in the country and the most technological product that comes out of the Amazonian line.

What changes in the ten units
The series brings together a unique combination of paint, finishes and graphic elements. The customization appears on the tank, on the side panels, on the crankcase protector, on the valve cover protectors and also on the top case, which received its own graphics. Each motorcycle leaves the factory with a numbered plate, which reinforces the collectible character of a print run that is equivalent to one unit per year of operation of the plant.
The only technical item advertised as a differential is the Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), which automates clutch actuation and gear changes, without eliminating the possibility of manual shifts by the pedal. The system dispenses with the clutch lever and is already offered in regular versions of the line. For the rest, the bike maintains the 1,300 cm³ boxer, with 145 hp and 15,2 kgfm, the most powerful engine ever produced in series by BMW Motorrad.
As a price parameter, the R 1300 GS Adventure Triple Black ASA with Low Kit, launched in July, costs R$ 156.990. Commemorative series with such a reduced print run are usually sold above the table of the equivalent version, but the brand has not confirmed the value of the edition.

A decade in Manaus
Opened in 2016, the plant is the only BMW Motorrad plant dedicated exclusively to motorcycles outside Germany and accounts for around 99% of the portfolio sold in the country. There are 13 models assembled there: G 310 R, G 310 GS, C 400 X, F 800 GS, F 900 R, F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure, S 1000 RR, R 1300 GS, R 1300 GS Adventure, R 1300 RT, R 12 and R 12 G/S.
BMW’s arrival in Manaus with its own operation occurred after the end of the partnership with Dafra, which until then assembled motorcycles of the German brand in the Free Trade Zone. In ten years, the factory has undergone structural expansions, incorporated new equipment and expanded the local supply chain, according to the company. BMW did not say how the ten units of the commemorative series will be distributed in the dealership network.
