With a 1.6 turbo engine and carbon fiber roof, the R$ 355 thousand sports car reaches the first buyers in April with an event at a racetrack
Toyota sold the entire first batch of the GR Yaris destined for the Brazilian market even before the official start of deliveries. The initial 99 units, out of a total volume of 198 vehicles planned for the country, were sold at the suggested price of R$ 354,990. Owners will receive the cars in April and will participate in a driving clinic at the Velocittà racetrack, in the interior of São Paulo, which will include rally activities with competition versions of the hatch.

The model is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, calibrated to develop 304 hp and 40,8 kgfm. The vehicle has two transmission options: six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic. Both configurations use 18″ alloy wheels and a ventilated disc brake system on all four wheels.
In dimensions, the GR Yaris is 3.99 meters long and has a wheelbase of 2.56 meters. The mass of the vehicle varies according to the transmission set, registering 1,305 kg in the manual version and 1,325 kg in the automatic variant.

The cabin has two-zone digital air conditioning and a push-button start system. The safety package includes eight airbags and the Toyota Safety Sense system, which integrates lane keeping assistant, autonomous pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and automatic high beam switching. The set also has electronic traction and stability controls, ramp start assistant, parking sensors and reversing camera.
The manufacturer applies the Toyota 10 program to the model, which extends the contractual warranty for up to 10 years, subject to periodic inspections in the authorized network. The hatch is sold in the colors Emotional Red, Precious Metal, Platinum White Pearl and Precious Black. All units leave the factory with an exposed carbon fiber roof.
