Toyota has made an official recall call for the 2026 Corolla due to a technical non-conformity in the front light sets, which can compromise road safety. According to the manufacturer, the failure stems from the absence of a specific marking on the lens of the headlights — a detail that violates federal vehicle safety standards and can increase the risk of night collisions.

The problem affects a restricted batch of 86 units manufactured between November 7 and 14, 2025 in the United States. The deficiency identified refers to the lack of marking of the optical axis, mandatory signaling to guide the correct alignment of the light beam.

Without this reference, technicians and owners are unable to adjust the headlights according to factory specifications. In practice, the deregulation results in an excessively high light projection, capable of dazzling the vision of drivers traveling in the opposite direction and reducing overall visibility on the road.

Toyota’s internal investigations traced the origin of the defect to a change in the production process of a component supplier, which omitted the engraving of the optical axis during the molding of the lenses. As the legislation requires that the headlights allow precise adjustments to avoid excessive glare, the absence of the mark makes the vehicle technically irregular before the traffic safety authorities.

As a corrective measure, the automaker will perform the free replacement of both headlights (left and right) in the affected units. Official notification to owners should take place by the end of April 2026. The company reinforces that the intervention is preventive and aims to reestablish the sedan’s original lighting standard, ensuring that the model meets the requirements of visibility and protection for all road users.
