Those who depend on the car in the east zone of São Paulo had a different morning this Thursday (23/7): the Traffic Engineering Company (CET) suspended the rotation of vehicles (exclusively in this region) after a serious failure paralyzed three train lines in the capital.
According to CET and the Secretariat of Mobility and Traffic, the decision came after a fire broke out on a train on the stretch between Brás and Tatuapé stations, which affected Lines 11-Coral, 12-Safira and 13-Jade, operated by the concessionaire Trivia Trens. According to the Fire Department, the teams were called around 5:38 am. Without a train, many passengers had to disembark and walk along the tracks still in the dark, near Tatuapé.
How is the rotation
The suspension is valid only for the morning rotation and only on roads in the east zone, such as Salim Farah Maluf, Celso Garcia, Radial Leste, do Estado and Luiz Inácio de Anhaia Mello avenues, in addition to Marginal Tietê to the Center. No fines will be generated on these stretches during the exception.
Outside of this specific measure, the rotation remains normal in the rest of the city. According to the CET rule, the restriction works from Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 10 am and from 5 pm to 8 pm, within the Expanded Center. On Thursday, cars with final license plates 7 and 8 are out of traffic. Failure to comply with the rule results in a fine of R$ 130.16 and four points on the license, and the driver can be fined twice on the same day.
The stumble is not isolated: this was the third day of operation of Trivia Trens on the lines previously managed by CPTM, and the third with registered problems.
