Fans of miniature cars will have a good reason to stop by the mall in the coming weeks. That’s because Mattel announced the dates of the Hot Wheels Promo Tour, a circuit that runs through Brazil between July 25 and August 16, 2026 and distributes an unprecedented collector’s cart to those who spend from R$ 249.00 on selected products from the line. It is a limited print run that does not go on the shelves: you can only get it at the tour stops.
The exclusive car of this edition is a miniature of the Ford Mustang Boss 302, one of the most cult muscle cars in history. The model was born in the late 1960s to fight on the tracks, as Ford needed a Mustang capable of beating the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 in the Trans-Am category. The solution was to commission a special project from designer Larry Shinoda, who had recently arrived from GM, which gave rise to the Boss 302.
Even the name of the sports car came from a joke: Shinoda called the secret car “the Boss’ car”. Under the hood, Mustang had a 4.9 V8 that became a legend among lovers of the Ford model.
The action warms up the engines for the grand finale of Hot Wheels Legends, the brand’s main automotive customization contest. The proposal is simple and ambitious: to transform a real car, made in the garage by an enthusiast, into an official Hot Wheels miniature in 1:64 scale, sold to collectors worldwide.
This is the sixth Brazilian edition, and the national final takes place on August 16, in São Paulo. The judges evaluate authenticity, creativity and the so-called “garage spirit” to define the winner.
To take the gift, you must buy at least R$ 249 in items from the Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Cars (Pixar) or Thomas & Friends brands at participating stores. The exchange takes place only on the weekends provided for in the calendar, from 8 am to 2 pm, and is valid while stocks last.
The tour passes through ten states:
