Red Bull presents ‘Formula 1 to the streets’ and it will be sold
Without following FIA rules, exclusive model features aspirated Cosworth engine that "screams" loud and unprecedented carbon fiber gearbox

Red Bull has revealed the final production details of its RB17, the hypercar that embodies Formula 1 engineering without the constraints of the FIA regulations. Signed by legendary designer Adrian Newey, the model has evolved from the initial concept: it has become slightly more compact and aesthetically more aggressive, while maintaining an absolute focus on performance on closed circuits.

Active aerodynamics and 10,000 rpm V15

The design of the RB17 is purely functional. The carbon fiber body features integrated LED headlights so as not to disturb airflow and an active dorsal “fin” for stability. The model wears Michelin tires developed confidentially to withstand the extreme aerodynamic loads that the vehicle generates.
The heart of the project is a 4.5-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, developed by Bosworth, capable of reaching 15,000 rpm — a rev higher than that of current F1 cars. The mechanical assembly impresses with its numbers and engineering solutions:
- Combined power: the combustion engine generates 1,000 hp, added to a 200 hp electrical system, totaling 1,200 hp.
- Featherweight: at less than 900 kg, the car offers a power-to-weight ratio equivalent to a Jeep Compass with about 2,000 hp.
- Unpublished broadcast: The six-speed sequential gearbox is made of carbon fiber and does not have a mechanical reverse gear; The electric motor performs this function.

Exclusivity and legacy
Inside, Red Bull has opted for functional minimalism. The cockpit dispenses with giant entertainment screens, focusing on essential dials and physical buttons on the steering wheel, ensuring that the driver is not distracted.
Production will be limited to just 50 units, all left-hand drive, cementing the RB17 as an instant collector’s item. The model is not just a fast car; is Adrian Newey’s last technical ‘work of art’ before his departure from the team, delivering buyers the closest possible experience to driving a Formula 1, but with superior durability and ease of operation.
