The 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer completely rebuilt by Ringbrothers for the 2022 SEMA Show will be auctioned by the American auction company Mecum at the end of September. The restomod has received a major overhaul and is now equipped with a 6.8-liter V8 engine that develops 1,217 hp.
Virtually no original components were retained other than the restored chassis. The bodywork, powertrain and interior have been redesigned, while the suspension was developed by the Roadster Shop and uses Fox shock absorbers and Dana axles, while the engine was prepared by Wegner Motorsport and has a huge Whipple compressor. The set is associated with a Bowler automatic transmission.

The SUV also received 18-inch wheels, off-road tires and Baer brakes. The body does not have a hard roof and is protected only by a fabric covering. The interior combines modern elements with direct references to the original model, with seats covered with leather straps are accompanied by custom-made switches and levers, reinforcing the retro proposal of the project.
Mecum has not yet released an estimate or reserve price for the auction. The model, however, arrives at the event as one of the most extreme projects ever produced by Ringbrothers, a house known for its high-performance restomods.
