Nissan has made the launch of the 2027 Z sports car line official, introducing updates that prioritize the connection between the driver and the machine. The main highlight of the update is the long-awaited offer of the six-speed manual transmission for the top-of-the-line NISMO version — a recurring demand from purists since the debut of the current generation. The model is expected to land in the American market between June and September 2026.

Equipped with the 420 hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, the Z NISMO maintains its power numbers, but receives electronic refinements to accommodate the new transmission. The manufacturer revised the calibration of the throttle and ignition system, seeking more direct answers and a linear torque delivery. The mechanical set also includes a reinforced clutch and shortened gear ratios, designed to favor quick shifts in sporty driving.

On the technical side, the Z 2027 inherits performance components from the iconic Nissan GT-R, such as the two-piece front brake discs. The change not only optimizes heat dissipation, but also reduces the unsprung weight by approximately 8.6 kg. To keep up with the new balance, the suspension was recalibrated and the power steering had its internal friction reduced by 20%, ensuring greater precision in curves.

Visually, the Sport and Performance variants sport a new front bumper and redesigned grille, now sporting only the “Z” badge. The modifications aim to reduce aerodynamic drag and increase the engine’s cooling capacity. Internally, the line debuts the Qi2 wireless charging standard and new finishing options. Another functional novelty is the redesigned fuel tank to avoid fuel failures under high lateral forces, a common problem on race tracks.
