Largest Brembo brake in history is launched with an eye on sports pickups
Six-piston part delivers more than 866 kgfm of braking torque and debuts in the Chevrolet Silverado EV electric pickup in the USA

Say the word Brembo to any enthusiast and the image is always the same: a red or gold caliper peeking out from behind the wheel of a super sports car. The Italian made a name for herself by signing the brake of cars such as the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, but the strongest caliper in the history of the brand was not born to accompany any V8 on the track: it was designed to stop extremely powerful large pickups,
It is the Brembo Boldika, presented on August 13 and which debuts in the Chevrolet Silverado EV RST Stars and Steel Edition electric pickup, in the United States, still in 2026. It’s Brembo’s debut in the large pickup segment — and it came with a number that draws attention.
866 kgfm: an out-of-scale number

The Boldika is a six-piston fixed caliper capable of generating more than 866 kgfm of braking torque, according to Brembo. To give you an idea of the scale: the Ram 2500, the most powerful diesel pickup sold in Brazil, delivers 148.7 kgfm of engine torque. The two measurements are not directly comparable — the engine’s torque is measured before the gearbox is multiplied, and the braking torque acts directly on the wheel — but the order of magnitude explains why the part exists: towing and off-road use punish brakes like few things.
Boldika is not an acronym or internal code: Brembo explains that the name merges bold and like , and even teaches the pronunciation, “bol-DÍ-ka”.
Its body is predominantly aluminum, but Brembo has applied here, for the first time in a six-piston design, its concept of a cast-iron center bridge — the two aluminum halves are joined by screws. The company claims that this increases stiffness and delivers more braking force and stability, with less weight than an entirely cast-iron caliper. Even with an enlarged insert area, the set fits behind 20-inch wheels.
A brake that learns to release

Detail little commented: brake pad never moves completely away from the disc, and this residual drag consumes energy. Boldika brings Brembo Enesys technology, which returns the pads to their resting position after braking. According to the manufacturer, this can increase the autonomy and extend the useful life of the pads.
“Brembo’s new caliper is an adaptable solution for pickup trucks and large SUVs, regardless of the type of propulsion,” said Stéphane Rolland, president and CEO of Brembo North America, who promises more precise braking and less fade.
On the Silverado EV, the Boldika comes in Torch Red, but there will be custom colours. Brembo did not disclose price or other applications. In Brazil, the segment is occupied by imported companies such as Ram 2500, Ram 3500 and Chevrolet Silverado, none of which have been confirmed as the destination of the part. The Silverado EV is not sold here: in the United States, the version that debuts the item starts at around R$ 520.600 (US$ 99.945).
