Minimalist emblem debuts in 2027 and symbolizes the Japanese automaker's "second founding", inspired by two outstretched hands
Honda Motor Co. announced on Tuesday (13) the adoption of a new design for its “H” letter logo — a symbol that will exclusively identify the brand’s car business. Used since 1963, the historic emblem will abandon the traditional square frame in favor of a more minimalist look, designed to accompany the company’s technological transition.
The visual redesign takes place in parallel with the development of the manufacturer’s next generation of electric vehicles, called the Honda 0 Series. The project, conceived from scratch, reflects the company’s proposal to return to its origins of engineering and innovation. According to the automaker, the new design expresses the commitment to a deep corporate transformation, seeking advances that go beyond the traditional fundamentals of the brand.

With a shape that resembles two outstretched hands, the new “H” symbolizes Honda’s intention to expand the possibilities of mobility and more directly meet the needs of the modern consumer. The application of the new badge is planned for future generations of electric and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), debuting in models that will hit the global market from 2027.
The company also informed that the new visual identity will be used broadly to represent Honda’s entire automotive ecosystem. This includes not only the vehicles, but also the visual communication of the dealerships and the motorsport activities.
In the industry’s electrification scenario, the change is described by the automaker not only as a redesign, but as a “second foundation”. The goal is to lead the transition period with technological solutions that, according to the brand, should break with conventional methods and exceed the expectations of the automotive market.
