Universal Studios has announced the details of what promises to be the definitive experience for fans of one of cinema’s most profitable franchises. The Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster will be the first large-scale extreme attraction dedicated to the saga, scheduled to open in the summer of 2026 at Orlando and Los Angeles parks.
The project comes at a strategic moment: with the end of the main film series scheduled for March 2028, Universal seeks to immortalize the legacy of Dominic Toretto and his “family” in its entertainment complexes.

Unlike previous simulators, the new attraction bets on real acceleration and state-of-the-art technology. The passenger vehicles are designed as faithful miniatures of iconic models such as Dom’s Dodge Charger, Brian’s Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 and Han’s Mazda RX-7. Each composition will feature an individual audio system and bucket seats, reinforcing immersion in the universe of clandestine racing.
Technically, the highlight lies in the programmed rotation system. The carts are capable of rotating 360 degrees independently while traveling the rail at up to 116 km/h. This engineering allows you to simulate drift — the controlled side skid that is a trademark of the franchise — during sharp turns and inversions. The route was designed to make the visitor feel like they are in the middle of a chase scene, with visual effects that complement the high speed.
