Brand executives indicate plans for the return of passenger cars, including the discontinued hatch in 2023
The Ford Fiesta, one of Ford’s most popular compact hatches, may return to the market in the coming years. Discontinued in 2023, the model returned to the spotlight after statements by Ford of Europe president Jim Baumbick, who hinted at future plans for the Fiesta name.
During an interview with the BBC, Jim Baumbick, president of Ford of Europe, left the possibility open by highlighting the strong appeal of the model with the European public, stating that there is a lot of affection for the model and the name and that they will soon have more news.

The trend is for the model to return in line with Ford’s electrification strategy in Europe, possibly with electric or hybrid powertrains.
Launched in 1976, the Fiesta has accumulated more than 22 million units sold worldwide. The hatch left the North American market in 2019, but continued in production in Europe until 2023, alongside the Ford Focus.
The rumor helps fuel Ford’s plans to expand its passenger car lineup in Europe again amid the development of new electrified vehicles for global markets.
