With a new generation of batteries and ultra-fast recharging, the model takes the top of the line position of the Chinese brand to face the Xiaomi SU7
BYD presented its new exponent of luxury and technology: the Seal 08. The sedan takes over as the flagship of the Ocean line and arrives with the strategic mission of competing at the top of the electric market, directly targeting rival Xiaomi SU7. With generous dimensions and the introduction of a new level of batteries, the model is officially launched in the second half of 2026.

The main technological asset of the Seal 08 lies in the debut of the second-generation Blade battery. The evolution of the Chinese manufacturer’s LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) cells allows for greater energy density, which enables a range of more than 1,000 km per full charge.
In addition to storage capacity, the sedan stands out for its efficiency in energy replacement. Thanks to the 800V electrical architecture and an 8C recharge rate, the system allows you to recover 400 km of range in just 5 minutes, as long as it is connected to compatible ultra-fast chargers. The advance seeks to mitigate “reach anxiety”, one of the main obstacles for consumers in the premium segment.

In terms of dimensions, the Seal 08 outperforms the current BYD Han, offering greater presence and interior space. The vehicle measures 5.15 meters in length, with a wheelbase of 3.03 meters and a width close to 2 meters. Although the detailed technical sheet is still kept under reservation, the brand confirmed that the top-of-the-line version will deliver power in excess of 644 hp.
To balance robust size with agility, the sedan will be equipped with all-wheel drive and a rear-wheel steering system, in addition to the Disus-Z intelligent active suspension. The set promises to deliver the comfort of an executive limousine with the vigor of a sports car, consolidating BYD’s offensive at the forefront of global electric mobility.
