Several cars sold in Brazil lost some wheelies under the hood this year. The Hyundai Creta, for example, had its power reduced from 193 hp to 176 horsepower – 17 horsepower less – although the torque remained at 27 kgfm.

Stellantis’ T270 engine, 1.3 turbo, was also a victim of the reduction in power from 185 hp to 176 horsepower. Renault’s 1.3 turbo also lost 7 wheelies. From 170 hp to 163 hp.

And why this “equine stampede”? By the new Proconve L8 legislation, which further tightened the limit on emissions and consumption, and even restricted the vaporization of the tank.
