Direct import is an exclusivity without warranty or support

Importing a car directly, without local representation, can be a headache when looking for spare parts, recalls and maintenance

What if you feel like buying a car produced abroad without an importer in Brazil? This is the case of Tesla, for example. There is no company in Brazil appointed by Tesla itself to bring its models.

But what about all these Teslas that run around here? It is the so-called direct import. The company buys it at the dealership in the United States and imports it legally, but those who buy this car here may have problems.

First, spare parts. There is no stock, they must be imported. Secondly, a recall. Tesla will call the cars for any modification. If it is electronic, it can even be done over the internet, but what if it is not? And a defect still in the warranty period. Who will be responsible for the free repair?
