Volkswagen launches new generation of SUV, with a 272 hp turbo engine, which offers more power than the unit used in the powerful GTI
Volkswagen has just launched the new Tiguan in Brazil. The SUV debuts with a suggested price of R$ 299.990, with deliveries scheduled for the first half of May.

Larger, more sophisticated and powerful, the Tiguan, in its current generation, has undergone adjustments to please mainly the North American market, which is one of the main destinations of the model. And in addition, it became more refined for the consumer on the lower side of the Equator.

The big news is its TSI 2.0 turbo engine (EA888 Evo5) that now delivers 272 hp and 35,7 kgfm of torque. The block is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission and 4 Motion all-wheel drive.
The traction system uses Haldex-type coupling, capable of distributing torque between the axles automatically, according to grip conditions. The model also offers six driving modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, Individual, Snow and Off-road.

The Tiguan 2026 maintains the size of a medium SUV, with a focus on comfort and stability. Among the main technical data:
The suspension set is independent on all four wheels, with McPherson architecture at the front and multilink at the rear, reinforcing the commitment to drivability and stability.
The design of the new Tiguan follows Volkswagen’s latest global language, with emphasis on the light signature. The model debuts in Brazil with IQ Light Matrix LED headlights, in addition to an illuminated logo on the front and rear.

The bodywork features more fluid lines and dynamic proportions, with emphasis on marked shoulders and larger diameter wheels. At the rear, the horizontal lighting strip reinforces the visual identity.

The interior of the 2026 Tiguan prioritizes connectivity and customization. The model has a 10.25-inch digital panel and a 15-inch multimedia center, both configurable.
