Sports compact was born to homologate rally cars and will come to Brazil in only 198 units, all numbered
Confirmed at the Motor Show, the Toyota GR Yaris went on pre-sale in Brazil for the price of R$ 354.990. Only 198 units of the sports car will be imported, 99 of them with manual transmission and 99 with automatic gearbox, both for the same price.
The cars will begin to be delivered in April, with the first customers being able to receive the model at an exclusive event held at the Velocittà racetrack. There they will be able to try the model on the asphalt track and will have a rally activity with a competition GR Yaris.

Each unit of the YR Yaris sold in Brazil will have a plaque identifying the 99 units of each version. The bigger brother GR Corolla also came in this number of units, only with manual transmission.
The compact will be sold in four colors: Emotional Red, Precious Metal, Platinum White Pearl and Precious Black. Like the rest of the line, the warranty is five years and can be extended to up to 10 years of coverage if revisions are made at the authorized network.

The GR Yaris was born to homologate the compact for the World Rally Championship (WRC), as Toyota wanted to race with a two-door car. It was the first sports car made by the Japanese company without support from other brands since the end of the MR2 in 2007.
The two-door body has wide fenders, uses more rigid materials and a carbon fiber roof. The model was updated in 2024 with more weld points and structural adhesives, to increase torsional rigidity.
Another change was an increase in power in the engine, which now delivers the same 304 hp and 40,8 kgfm as the GR Corolla. As the GR Yaris weighs 1,305 kg and has smaller measurements, it is more agile than its bigger brother. The brand did not disclose performance data.

The drive is all-wheel drive and can have the distribution changed by the driver. In normal mode it is 60% at the front and 40% at the rear, in Gravel (gravel) the division is 53:47 and in Track (track) it varies between 60:40 and 30:70, depending on the vehicle’s needs.
The eight-male automatic transmission was a novelty that came in the 2024 update. It is a traditional epicyclic gearbox, with a torque converter, but set up for quick changes. For those who prefer to change brands on their own, you will have the 99 manual units.
The only difference in equipment between the two versions of the GR Yaris is in some features of the ADAS, which are not available in the manual car. But we believe that this is far from being a concern for those looking for a car like this
