GAC started this Friday (6) the pre-sale of the GS3, its first 100% combustion model for Brazil. It is the sixth product in the brand’s range here and will compete in the most disputed niche in the market: compact SUVs, led by the Volkswagen T-Cross.

Still without a price, the pre-sale will last until March 18th. Those who book through Mercado Libre will have a bonus of R$ 4 thousand when purchasing GS3.

The GAC GS3 measures 4.44 m long, 1.85 m wide, 1.60 m high and 2.65 m wheelbase. This positions it among the largest in the compact SUV segment, flirting with the size of some medium-sized ones.

Despite the size, the trunk is only 341 liters. The priority was space for passengers, something recurrent in Chinese cars.

The combustion engine of the GAC GS3

Unlike the other Chinese brands that debuted in Brazil recently, GAC did not bet all its chips on electric and hybrids. It justifies the GS3 only combustion with the public that still does not trust electrification and likes to travel.

The engine used is a 1.5 turbo with direct injection powered only by gasoline. It yields 170 hp and 25,5 kgfm. The transmission is an automated dual-clutch oil-bathed transmission, with seven gears.

GAC has not released performance data, but promises to outperform rivals such as the T-Cross 250 TSI. The Chinese model, which has 7 hp more, does 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.

Equipment

The equipment list for each version of the GAC GS3 has not been revealed. The brand confirmed that the model will have a level 2 ADAS package, panoramic sunroof, driver’s seat with ventilation and electric adjustment, trunk with electric opening and ventilation outlet for the rear seat.

The dashboard features a digital instrument panel with a 7-inch screen and a 14.6-inch multimedia center, the largest in the segment. It has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Below are some physical buttons that control the air conditioning.

An interesting feature is the parking assistant. In the GS3 it performs the entire goal maneuver without interference from the driver, you don’t need to control the brake or change the brand, the car does that. It works for parallel, perpendicular, and diagonal spaces.

More details about the car will come soon, along with the price.
