Ford expands the work line of the medium pickup, equipped with a 2.0 turbodiesel engine of 170 hp, with automatic or manual transmission options
Ford launched this Tuesday (10) the Ranger Single Cab. The pickup now has the option of an elongated bucket or in the cab chassis version, for the installation of implements. With a starting price (suggested) of R$ 248.600, the option with only two seats arrives to compete for land in a field that had only Chevrolet S20 and Toyota Hilux as competitors.

Ford wants to expand market share in a segment that, according to the brand, corresponded to almost 40% of sales of medium pickup trucks in 2025. In a translation into numbers, it is a universe of almost 50 thousand units shared between GM and Toyota.




And to get a market, Ford bets on price, load capacity, efficiency and equipment. All versions are equipped with a digital instrument panel, air conditioning, 10-inch multimedia (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as the option to customize tools, such as access to sirens, among other features that can be developed with implementers).








The pickup is stripped of refinements, offered only in white, unpainted bumper and iron wheels. Items such as running boards, St. Anthony, bucket protector, windshield protector and even snorkel are sold as accessories in the dealer network.

The Ranger XL is equipped with the Panther 2.0 turbodiesel engine with 170 hp and 41,3 kgfm of torque, which can be combined with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, also with six speeds.
Ford defends itself against rivals, with larger and more powerful engines, based on the engine tuning, which offers all its torque below 2,500 rpm. According to the executives, this behavior is reflected in lower consumption of diesel and also of Arla 32, which directly impacts the operating cost of fleet owners, as well as rural producers, gas station attendants and other applications.
Equipped with an 80-liter tank, Ford also ensures that its pickup has greater autonomy than rivals, with an average of 860 km per refueling. According to the brand, S10 runs 820 km and Hilux reaches 796 km.
