Citroën Aircross is the seven-seater SUV with the lowest price on the market and the Shine version qualifies to convince the consumer
If the priority in 2026 is to buy a seven-seater car spending as little as possible, there is not much room for discussion: the Citroën Aircross is now the most affordable option in the Brazilian market. Its direct competitor, the Chevrolet Spin, starts from significantly higher values (R$ 154 thousand, in the seven-seater LTZ varsão), while the French model starts at around R$ 128 thousand, and can drop to less than R$ 123 thousand in direct purchases from the factory’s inventory.
Evaluated here in the Shine version, intermediate between the seven-seat configurations (second only to the adventurous XTR), the Aircross has a suggested price of R$ 153 thousand, but appears at retail for about R$ 130 thousand in promotional actions, such as orders directly from factory stock, in Ruby Red color. In this scenario, it is difficult to financially justify the choice of GM’s rival.

The great asset of the Citroën Aircross is precisely where it matters: the third row of seats. The model delivers full homologation for seven occupants, all with three-point belts and headrests, as determined by law.

In practice, however, it is necessary to align expectations. The third row is suitable for children. Adults can even accommodate themselves, but only for short trips. Access requires patience, legroom is limited, and the feeling is claustrophobic. On the other hand, Citroën added a USB-C port and an auxiliary ventilation system, which helps to ease the discomfort of those who go in the back.

With the seven seats in use, the trunk practically disappears, with a reduction from 493 to 42 liters (in the VDA measure). That is, there is only room for small volumes. The good news is versatility: the rear seats can be folded down or removed entirely, allowing you to turn the car into a good luggage carrier when needed.
The Aircross Shine 2026 tries to grace the customer with items that do not appear in the entry-level versions, such as:
Still, the car follows a clear proposal within Stellantis’ strategy: Citroën occupies the group’s entry step. This explains the total absence of advanced driving assistance. There is no collision warning, autonomous braking, blind spot monitoring or any other active safety feature. It is a gap that weighs against more modern competitors.
Under the hood of the Citroën Aircross is the well-known 1.0 turbo T200, shared with other models in the group. There are 20,4 kgfm of torque, delivered early, which guarantees:
Consumption is compatible with the proposal of a compact family SUV, larger and heavier than a hatchback, and the official numbers remain within the category average.
| Fuel | Urban | Road |
|---|---|---|
| Gasoline | 11.2 km/l | 13.0 km/l |
| Ethanol | 7.9 km/l | 9.1 km/l |

Driving the Citroën Aircross is very reminiscent of the C3, from which it derives. The driving position is higher and more vertical, favoring visibility and urban comfort. The interior space is well used thanks to good ergonomic solutions.
On the other hand, the car still suffers from:
None of this makes it unfeasible to use it, but they are factors that can weigh on those who are willing to invest more in exchange for sophistication.
The Citroën Aircross Shine 2026 does not try to be the most technological, most comfortable or most refined seven-seater on the market. He wants to be the most accessible. And he succeeds.

For families with children, a real need for seven seats and a controlled budget, there is no cheaper option. Its main rival is more expensive and outdated, while the Aircross still has breath and room to evolve.
Lacking a little more content? Lack. But if the argument is price, added to the two extra seats, the Frenchman delivers exactly what he promises. And you, would you bet on the Aircross to take the whole family?
