Automatic car is one of those trends with no return. Increasingly popular, transmissions that promise comfort gain space among compacts and in the entry-level segments.

Those looking for a new car no longer need to pay high amounts to take the automatic transmission in some top-of-the-line version. The entry-level cars are already equipped in this way and with prices starting at R$ 100 thousand.

We list below the 10 cheapest automatic cars in Brazil. The list surprises with its diversity, with hatches, sedans and SUVs, which can have electric, turbo or aspirated powertrain. The variety exists even in the types of transmission, with traditional epicyclic automatic, CVT and double clutch, fortunately there are no more automated ones.

1. Renault Kwid E-Tech: R$ 99.990 — cheapest automatic car in Brazil

  • Motor: Electric
  • Power: 65 hp
  • Torque: 11.5 kgfm
  • Shifter: direct ratio, no gears

Renault updated the Kwid E-Tech for the 2026 line at the end of the year and kept the price of R$ 99.990. Along with the new look came a more modern dashboard, the ADAS package, digital instrument panel and an improved multimedia center.

The Kwid E-Tech is also the most affordable way to have an electric car and to have ADAS assistants. It has six airbags, air conditioning, electric windows on all four doors, cruise control and electric adjustment of the mirrors. The range of 180 km and 65 hp demonstrate that this is an essentially urban car.

2. Citroën C3 You: BRL 106.990

In addition to being affordable, performance is the best up to R$ 160 thousand (Photo: Citroën | Disclosure)
  • Engine: 1.0 turbo
  • Power: 130 hp
  • Torque: 20.4 kgfm
  • Exchange rate: CVT with 7 simulated gears

If an electric car does not meet your use, the cheapest automatic in Brazil with a combustion engine is the Citroën C3 You. This version is the only one of the hatch with a 1.0 turbo engine and its gearbox is the CVT Aisin with 7-speed simulation.

Weighing only 1.122 kg, it is the fastest car in Brazil up to R$ 160 thousand. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is done in 8.2 seconds. As it is the top version of the C3, the You model has automatic air conditioning, multimedia center, configurable digital panel, fog lights, alloy wheels, vinyl seats, electric windows on all four doors and cruise control.

The C3 has good interior space and a trunk of 315 liters. It only sins in safety, it only has what is required by law.

3. Fiat Argo Drive 1.3 CVT: BRL 107.790

In addition to being automatic, it has a very economical 1.3 engine (Photo: Fiat | Disclosure)
  • Engine: 1.3 aspirated
  • Power: 107 hp
  • Torque: 13.7 kgfm
  • Exchange rate: CVT with 7 simulated gears

The Fiat Argo is an old-fashioned hatchback, with a more conventional body than the C3, aspirated 1.3 engine and a measured look. The Drive model comes equipped with the essentials: air conditioning, front electric windows, cruise control, on-board computer, multimedia center and full LED headlights.

If you want alloy wheels, electric windows at the rear, electric mirrors, face-to-face key, fog lights and automatic air conditioning, you will have to pay R$ 4 thousand more for the S-Design package. The Argo’s 1.3-liter naturally aspirated engine is famous for its reliability and fuel economy, its performance is not bad, but it does not excite like the 1.0 turbo.

4. Peugeot 208 Active Turbo: BRL 109.490

  • Engine: 1.0 turbo
  • Power: 130 hp
  • Torque: 20.4 kgfm
  • Exchange rate: CVT with 7 simulated gears

The Peugeot 208 has always been a beautiful, well-equipped and good car to drive, but the aspirated 1.6 engine did not excite. Fiat’s 1.0 turbo that equips the model now fits like a glove and takes better advantage of the excellent set that the French created.

In the 2026 line, the compact had its versions reorganized and the Active now has a turbo engine. It comes with alloy wheels, multimedia center, sound system with six speakers, electric windows on all four doors and four airbags. The interior space is tight for those who go in the back seat, but for those who are not going to take passengers it can be a good choice.

5. Citroën Basalt Feel Turbo: BRL 110.990

  • Engine: 1.0 turbo
  • Power: 130 hp
  • Torque: 20.4 kgfm
  • Exchange rate: CVT with 7 simulated gears

The Citroën Basalt is the cheapest automatic SUV in Brazil and has a set that is very reminiscent of sedans. Its main attractions are the interior space and the trunk with 490 liters of capacity.

This version is equipped with the same 1.0 turbo as the C3 You and the Peugeot 208. The equipment package is simple, but it already features air conditioning, electric windows on all four doors, four airbags, digital panel and multimedia center. He owes cruise control.

6. Volkswagen Polo Sense: BRL 112.990

  • Engine: 1.0 turbo
  • Power: 116 hp
  • Torque: 16.8 kgfm
  • Exchange rate: Epicyclic automatic with 6 gears

Volkswagen has reduced the offer of Polo versions with the arrival of the Tera. Above the Track model is the Sense, with an economical 170 TSI engine and a six-speed automatic transmission.

This version brings a package of equipment that is even interesting for the price: air conditioning, four airbags, customizable digital panel, VW Play multimedia center, face-to-face key, ventilation outlets for the rear seat, full-LED headlights, cruise control, front armrest with storage compartment and reverse sensor. The only option is the set of alloy wheels.

The Volkswagen Polo Sense is the cheapest automatic car with epicyclic gearbox in Brazil in 2026. This means that its gearbox has gears, unlike the CVT used by Stellantis that varies ratios continuously.

7. Renault Kardian Autentic: BRL 113.990

  • Engine: 1.0 turbo
  • Power: 125 hp
  • Torque: 22.4 kgfm
  • Exchange rate: Dual clutch with 6 gears

The Autentic version of the Renault Kardian debuted in 2025 as the option for PwD after the Evolution AT exceeded R$ 120 thousand. It loses the sump guard, trunk lid, glove compartment lighting and hubcaps become glossy black to reach this value. All of this can be recovered along with the reversing camera with an optional package.

Despite the strange cuts, the cheapest automatic version of the Kardian already has six airbags, automatic air conditioning, cruise control, digital panel, multimedia center, electric mirror adjustment, electric windows on all four doors, reverse sensor, full-LED headlights and split rear seat.

The Renault Kardian is the only one here with a dual-clutch transmission. This means that the changes are faster and the set is more efficient, as it “steals” less power than the torque converter of the epicyclic and CVT.

8. Fiat Pulse Drive 1.3 CVT: BRL 114.990

The Pulse is well equipped like the Kardian, but its engine is aspirated (Photo: Fiat | Disclosure)
  • Engine: 1.3 aspirated
  • Power: 107 hp
  • Torque: 13.7 kgfm
  • Exchange rate: CVT with 7 simulated gears

The Fiat Pulse Drive completes the offer of entry-level SUVs with automatic transmission below this list, the Volkswagen Tera still charges a high amount to have this option. The Italian brand’s model differs from rival Renault Kardian by having an aspirated engine option, the 1.3 Firefly.

Performance is behind the 1.0 turbo, but it makes up for it in fuel economy. The equipment package already includes four airbags, analog panel with on-board computer, automatic air conditioning, electric windows on all four doors, front armrest, cruise control and TC+ differential lock.

9. Chevrolet Onix AT Turbo: BRL 114.990

  • Engine: 1.0 turbo
  • Power: 115 hp
  • Torque: 16.8 kgfm
  • Exchange rate: Epicyclic automatic with 6 gears

Chevrolet was one of those responsible for popularizing the automatic transmission in the compact car segment. The first-generation Onix had a six-speed gearbox that stood out from the automated ones of the competition and the infamous AL4 of the French brands.

Today to have this equipment in the Onix you need to take the AT Turbo version. It already features the MyLink multimedia center with connected services and WiFi router, six airbags, face-to-face key, cruise control and twilight sensor.

10. Honda City LX: BRL 117.500

Cement,Floor,In,Dark,Room,With,Spot,Light ,Black,Background
Entry-level version of the City has smaller wheels and loses the ADAS package, but maintains the good finish and stands out for its interior space (Photomontage: Eduardo Rodrigues | AutoPapo)
  • Engine: 1.5 aspirated
  • Power: 126 hp
  • Torque: 15.8 kgfm
  • Exchange rate: CVT with 7 simulated gears

With the end of the Toyota Yaris, the Japanese car in Brazil became the Honda City, which is sold only with automatic transmission. Both the hatch and the sedan start at R$ 117.500 in the LX version, it is up to the buyer to choose whether he prefers the more compact size and modular seats, or the large trunk of 519 liters.

The Honda City LX is the only one without the Honda Sensing ADAS package, without the electronic parking brake, without the cruise control and with 15-inch wheels. The face-to-face key, the six airbags, the reversing camera, the twilight sensor, the rear armrest and the multimedia center were maintained.
