Important adjustments brought more refinement in driving as well as a lot of technology to one of the most brutal motorcycles in Brazil
Yamaha’s Master of Torque line has been successful in the market since its arrival, after all they are models that even scare those who are not apt with two wheels. The intermediate of them, the MT-07, was updated in early 2025 and, at the time, we tested it and took our impressions of the model.

The biggest changes found in the New Yamaha MT-07 start with its aesthetics, which in this new generation is more in line with the rest of the Masters of Torque family. It no longer has that “Medusa face” and incorporated an LED headlight with DRL and much more utility in the lines that shape the front. The rest of the model’s body has also changed and now looks more like a sporty naked style.

The adjustments also included better performance. The handlebars have become lower (22 mm), wider (9 mm) and closer to the rider (9.3 mm) optimizing handling. The pedal is 10 mm lower.
The model’s tail has also changed, with a focus on aerodynamics and the new generation of the bike now finally has an inverted front suspension. At the rear a monoshock with 7 levels of preload adjustment.
Another major highlight of the mid-range is its new panel that with 5 inches and a color screen has different themes, smartphone connectivity, music player, GPS navigation and others. Accessibility and pilot control commands are found on the left handle.

The engine part of the Yamaha MT-07 maintains the same twin-cylinder capable of a maximum of 73.4 hp at 8750 rpm and torque of 6.9 kgfm at 6500 rpm, when fueled with gasoline.
Taking the model to run, the motivation for the name is noticeable, after all it is a really “master” motorcycle of torque. As soon as you turn the key, you can already see the brutality of the engine and the update of the traction control helped a lot in mastering the bike.

In another aspect, the new Yamaha MT-07 played the “wild horse” in the reduced ones. Two gears down before the corner and high rev can make the rear end come out (which contradicts the bike’s upgrade). To be honest, not even the other drivers could understand the behavior, which is something kind of worrying. I believe that the habit with the model is the solution.
In terms of riding, the naked comes well tuned, both for comfort and performance. The acceleration is abrupt and delivers very well. In third gear it is already possible to exceed 100 km/h effortlessly. In the curves, the bike also does not sin and like most Japanese bikes, it lies down masterfully.
In the end, some claimed that the bike was “capped” with the updates, but still the bike is strong, fast and now technological.
