32 units arrived in the district during a special ceremony with the presidency of the Japanese representative and the regional vice governor
Suzuki, through the Nova Suzuki dealership, delivered 32 units of the V-Strom 650XT to the Traffic Department of the Federal District (Detran-DF), this Thursday (5). The motorcycles began to reinforce the agency’s inspection fleet and were officially delivered this week, in a ceremony held in the federal capital, with the presence of Vice Governor Celina Leão.

According to the executive director of Suzuki Brazil, Fernanda Toledo, the choice of the model shows the confidence of public agencies in the brand.
“The choice of our Bigtrail V-Strom 650XT to compose the Detran fleet reinforces the confidence of public institutions in a model recognized for its robustness, reliability and versatility, essential characteristics for operations that require high performance on a daily basis,” he said.
The executive also pointed out that this is not the first time that Suzuki has supplied motorcycles for public safety. Last year, the brand delivered 129 units of the GSX-S1000 to the Independent Company of Ostensive Rounds with Motorcycle Application (CIROCAM), a unit linked to the Special Police Operations Battalion (BOPE) of the Military Police of Paraná.

According to the general director of Detran-DF, Marcu Antônio Bellini, the renewal of the fleet will have a direct impact on the service to the population and the routine of the agents. In all, the agency received 167 new vehicles for traffic inspection, including cars, pickup trucks, trucks, vans and Suzuki motorcycles.
“Motorcycles, specifically, guarantee faster service to demands”, stressed Bellini during the delivery.

For institutional use, the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT can be a good choice. The model is an intermediate crossover characteristic, that is, it has good power, dimensions and ergonomics to run in the city and still be agile when necessary. The model sins only in the need for off-road use and against very powerful vehicles.
The bike is equipped with a 645 cm³, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine, which delivers 71 hp of power and 6.32 kgf.m of torque.
The bigtrail has a 6-speed gearbox, assist and slipper clutch, as well as multi-level traction control and ABS braking system as standard. In the XT version, the V-Strom features spoked wheels — 19-inch at the front and 17-inch at the rear —, long-travel suspension and hand and crankcase guards, favoring driving both on asphalt and on uneven roads.
Another highlight is the autonomy. The 20-liter fuel tank allows for long periods of operation without the need for frequent refueling.
