In an old commercial, the actor gave a speech convincing consumers that the Brazilian Dafra would be the best acquisition option
This weekend the Oscar ceremony takes place, the biggest award in world cinema, and, to the pride of Brazilians, the Bahian actor Wagner Moura competes for the main prize. Remembered for several remarkable roles, such as Captain Nascimento in “Tropa de Elite” (2007) and Pablo Escobar in “Narcos” (2015–2016), he also has his relationship with the world of motorcycles, even if succinctly.

In 2009, the movie star was the protagonist in a commercial for the then newcomer Dafra. In a scene simulating a “battle of the perfect encounter”, Wagner spoke and convinced the citizen to purchase the models of the Brazilian manufacturer.
The scene carries an emotional tone and makes direct reference to the speech of the pastor, political activist and defender of Civil Rights in the United States, Martin Luther King Jr., in which he enunciates the famous phrase: “I have a dream”.
Even though Wagner’s speech is just a reference, without any political nature, the actor puts emotion in his oratory, which aimed to convince those who were there to buy a Dafra.
Then, the short commercial moves on to a “war” scene, in which each one finds their Dafra, but not to battle, but to acquire.

In addition to this commercial, Wagner Moura has already acted on two wheels. During the filming of “The Search” (2013), the actor dispensed with stunt doubles to ride a small motorcycle — which appears to be a Honda CG from the early 2000s.
In the aforementioned series Narcos, the actor also appeared on a motorcycle. During the first season, Pablo Escobar (played by the Brazilian) is shown on a pillion. The series spared Moura from other experiences on two wheels, since the real Escobar piloted models. The most famous in his collection was the Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic (1990), illegally imported to Colombia.

More recently, the actor appeared again on two wheels in the production “Sergio” (2020), a film released by Netflix that tells the story of Brazilian diplomat Sérgio Vieira de Mello. In some scenes set in the Middle East, Wagner Moura appears riding a motorcycle while moving through conflict areas, reinforcing the tense atmosphere of the narrative.
Currently, Wagner Moura does not have many records venturing on two wheels, but who knows, maybe one day he will appreciate the two-wheeled audience again. After all, according to the actor himself, during the recordings of Tropa de Elite his desire for adrenaline increased considerably.
