Directly inspired by the sports car launched in 1973, the Formula 73 adopts the Urban Café Racer proposal and combines classic elements with current technological resources.

According to the manufacturer, the new special edition seeks to reinterpret the style and values of performance and sophistication associated with the brand since the 1970s. The silver and aqua green paint refers to the original 750 Super Sport Desmo, while the gold stripe on the tank references the solution adopted in the Imola Desmo for quick visualization of the fuel level. Elements such as clip-on handlebars with high-end mirrors, short fairing and raised tail reinforce the retro proposal.
The Ducati Formula 73 uses the 803 cm³ Desmodue engine, twin-cylinder L-shaped with two valves and Euro 5+ homologation, capable of delivering 73 hp at 8.250 rpm and 6,6 kgfm of torque at 7.000 rpm. The exhaust was developed in partnership with Termignoni, while the Ride-by-Wire electronic throttle manages the power delivery.

The chassis includes a tubular steel structure, KYB suspensions (41 mm inverted fork at the front and rear monoshock with preload adjustment), front brake with Brembo four-piston radial caliper and 330 mm disc, as well as 17-inch wheels shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires. without fuel, it is 183 kg.
In the electronic package, the bike features an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), ABS in curves, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) and two riding modes (Sport and Road). The dashboard is 4.3-inch TFT, with full-LED lighting and compatibility with the Ducati Multimedia System for turn-by-turn navigation.

Each unit of the new Ducati Formula 73 has a numbered plate on the handlebars, a certificate of authenticity and a special kit with historical images and sketches of the brand’s Style Center. The new bike arrives at European dealerships in the first half of 2026, with global distribution expected by the end of September.
