The need of the modern citizen has made the motorcycle one of the most commercialized vehicles in Brazil today, especially when it comes to the smaller and more affordable models on the market. On the other hand, these are also the vehicles that are most involved and suffer the most in accidents. After all, motorcycles almost always go to the ground in unforeseen situations.

Naturally, the rider is looking for the bike that, in all aspects, fits in his pocket, since the price of spare parts can vary greatly, depending on the model. Therefore, we have listed the main popular motorcycles in the country and listed the value of the parts that suffer the most damage in an accident.

Considering the most commercialized urban motorcycles, according to Fenabrave (National Federation of Automotive Vehicle Distribution), we selected the Honda CG 160 Start, Yamaha Factor 150, Haojue DK 160 and Bajaj Pulsar N150 models.

For each of them, we list some of the parts that are most often damaged in falls and check the values at renowned authorized dealerships. For a fairer assessment, all the stores consulted are from the city of São Paulo (SP), ensuring similar costs in logistics and taxation.

Each motorcycle was also analyzed by the “fall side”, after all, depending on the side on which the motorcycle falls, the damaged components are different.

  • It is important to note that the prices considered are original producer prices of official resale.

In the sum of the left side, the champion of the lowest prices was the Chinese Haojue DK 160.

The model, which has been winning fans in search of an alternative to the traditional Japanese ones, surprised in the survey carried out in authorized dealerships. According to the values calculated at Nova Suzuki, several parts — such as the turn signals — can cost practically half of what they do at competitors.

The main reason for the lower costs lies in the simplicity of the project. Halogen lights, rather than modern LEDs, help keep prices more contained.

Right behind is the Bajaj Pulsar N150, which also features parts with competitive values overall. In the survey, what significantly increased the total cost was the sale of the suspension fork together. Disregarding this item, the values practiced by Triple Bajaj would be very close to those of Haojue.

In third position is the Honda CG 160, the “darling” of Brazil, represented here by the Start version. In the traditional Remaza, the prices of simpler parts are not scary, but more robust components make the repair more expensive. A positive point of the Start is in the set of headlights that are still halogen; if it were LED, as in the Titan version, the cost would be higher.

Finally, Yamaha presented the highest total value on the left side. In this case, it was the sum of small differences in the pieces that resulted in a higher final amount.

On the right side, the biggest difference in the costs of a fall is in the exhaust, a fundamental and high-value item. All the popular motorcycles listed exceed R$ 3 thousand in this piece, but, again, the Japanese concentrate the highest prices.
