The increase in motorcycle sales has grown since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, all motivated by the increase in the price of vehicles in general, and the beginning of 2026 is no different. The first balance of registrations of the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave) shows that 178,537 motorcycles were registered in the period, 26,252 more than in the same month of 2025.

The Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Motorcycles, Mopeds, Motorcycles, Bicycles and Similar (Abraciclo) points out that the entire year 2026 will be busier for the sector.

The numbers of sales and registrations of motorcycles rose in all categories. For the most common, urban motorcycles, the growth was 23.53%, reaching a total of 67,708 motorcycles licensed. Most models stand out with significant increases in sales.

Another category that cannot be left out is big trails, which, thanks to the commercialization of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, grew 52.62% in registrations, comparing the months of January 2025 and 2026.

  • All categories of the sector grew in sales, indicating an overall growth in the entire motorcycle segment.

More bikes on the streets

The production of motorcycles in Brazil obviously follows this increase in registrations. 1,980,538 units were manufactured in 2025, and the expectation is that 2,070,000 motorcycles will be produced in 2026.

The president of Abraciclo, Marcos Bento, said, in a recent interview with Agência Brasil, that this increase in the sale of motorcycles is linked to the needs of the citizen.

“The sector’s performance reflects the heated demand for two-wheeled vehicles, driven mainly by urban mobility and professional use”, he highlights.

The largest food delivery platform in Latin America, iFood, points out that today more than 400 thousand motorcyclists are registered on the platform. The expectation is that these numbers will also continue to grow and contribute to the two-wheeled sector.
