BMW Motorrad has officially confirmed the launch of the new BMW F 450 GS for the first half of 2026. The announcement was made during the brand’s global balance and foresees the arrival of the model between March and June, initially in the Indian market — the country where the motorcycle will also be manufactured. The novelty should take over as the successor to the G 310 GS, expanding the entry offer of the German manufacturer’s adventurous line.

Presented as a prototype at EICMA 2024 and now confirmed as the final product, the F 450 GS debuts with a new 420 cm³ in-line twin-cylinder engine, capable of delivering 48 hp and 4.3 kgfm. The set brings modern solutions, such as a crankshaft with pins staggered by 135°, a focus on smoothness of operation and declared consumption of 3.8 L/100 km.

In the technological package, BMW does not skim: riding modes, traction control, ABS Pro in curves, 6.5-inch TFT panel with connectivity and even features such as quickshifter and automated clutch (ERC), depending on the version. The chassis is unprecedented, with a tubular steel frame, KYB suspensions and Brembo brakes, in addition to 19″ wheels at the front and 17″ at the rear, reinforcing the mixed-use proposal.

Positioned below the F 800 and F 900 GS, in Brazil the F 450 GS enters directly into the fray with models such as Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and CFMoto 450 MT. The expectation is that the bike will finally be a medium-light trail bike with a real vocation for off-road — something that the 310 never managed to fully deliver.

  • Despite the “F” name and the positioning above the old 310, the new F 450 GS is far from being an all-German project. As with the G 310 GS and G 310 R, the model is born from a direct partnership with TVS Motor Company, being produced at the Hosur plant in India. BMW classifies the project as global, developed under the supervision of Munich, but with strong participation from the Asian partner – a point that already generates criticism among part of the brand’s more traditional audience.

BMW Motorrad has not officially confirmed the arrival of the model here or whether it will replace the G 310 GS here, although the 310 platform is in the process of being discontinued.
