More than two thousand models that were manufactured between November 2016 and April 2017 will have the four locks replaced
Volvo has announced the recall of 2,758 units of the Volvo S60L (version with an elongated wheelbase), manufactured between November 24, 2016 and April 8, 2017, due to failures in the door locks.
According to the automaker, prolonged exposure to high temperatures can compromise the mechanism, causing the spring retention hook to break during opening. In addition to leaving the vehicle unlocked when parked, the defect can allow the door to open unexpectedly in maneuvers, such as when reversing or going around roundabouts. There is a risk of ejection if the occupant is not wearing a seat belt.

The company has been monitoring the problem since 2019, when it carried out a first recall. At the end of 2025, new reports involving vehicles outside the initial campaign led to the expansion of the measure.
Owners will be notified beginning February 23, 2026, and can check the vehicle’s status via the chassis number (VIN) at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration base. Dealerships will replace the locks with redesigned parts free of charge, and those who have already paid for the repair will be able to request a refund.
