With 5,403 units licensed, the FH 540 model maintains the lead; brand now bets on an economical version for four-axle trailers
The Volvo FH 540 ended 2025 consolidating its hegemony in the domestic market: it was, for the seventh consecutive time, the best-selling heavy truck in Brazil. According to registration data, the model registered 5,403 units sold in the year, keeping Volvo at the top of one of the most disputed segments of road cargo transport.
The Swedish automaker also secured a “double” in the lead. The second place in the ranking went to the FH 460, which totaled 3,613 registrations in the period. In addition to the performance among the zero-kilometers, the FH line maintains high liquidity in the secondary market, also leading the list of most traded used trucks in the country, according to a survey by Fenauto.

To sustain leadership in 2026, the brand’s strategy bets on technological updating. The main novelty is the introduction of I-Torque, a system that uses artificial intelligence to manage driving. The tool analyzes variables such as topography, load and acceleration in real time to optimize torque delivery, standardizing energy efficiency regardless of the driver’s profile.
The renewal of the fleet will also bring changes in the portfolio. The 2026 line marks the arrival of the FH 500, a version positioned to become the new standard in four-axle trainsets. The proposal is to offer an option with embedded technology equivalent to the top models, but with a specific focus on balancing performance and operating cost for this type of configuration.
