Top-of-the-line version of the van receives lowered suspension, 19-inch wheels and sporty details, maintaining the original engine
Volkswagen presented in Europe the new Transporter Sportline, a top-of-the-range version of the van that seeks to transfer the aura of the iconic GTI models to the commercial vehicle segment. The German brand’s strategy focuses on aggressive aesthetics and improved dynamic behavior, while maintaining the versatility of the original engines — which range from turbodiesel (TDI) to plug-in hybrid and 100% electric options.
Visually, the sporty identity is evidenced by the classic red stripe on the front grille, a historic signature of the automaker’s performance line. The visual package also includes an exclusive body kit, consisting of side skirts, redesigned bumpers and glossy black details that replace traditional chrome.

To distance the model from a conventional cargo van, Volkswagen invested in punctual but effective mechanical changes. The main one is the adoption of springs from the Eibach brand, which lower the suspension by 29 millimeters. The adjustment is not just for aesthetics: it aims to improve handling and stability in curves, reducing the SUV’s center of gravity.
The undercarriage follows the sporty proposal with 19-inch alloy wheels with a darkened finish, which fill the wheel arches more robustly. The visual contrast is reinforced by the red paint as opposed to the black mirrors and trim, creating the “Black Style” package as standard on this version.
Inside, the Transporter Sportline justifies its premium positioning with a superior equipment package than the work versions. In addition to improved ergonomics, the model offers technologies from luxury segments, such as:
The model will be sold in both van and passenger Kombi configurations, with short or long wheelbase options.
