Developed under the "in China, for China" strategy, the electric utility vehicle breaks with the brand's global design and offers up to 730 km of autonomy
Volkswagen has consolidated its recovery strategy in China by starting the pre-sale of the ID. Unyx 08, the electric SUV developed under the guideline “in China, for China”. The model is the first practical result of the technological partnership with local manufacturer Xpeng and hits the market with prices between 239,900 and 299,900 yuan (approximately R$ 181 thousand to R$ 227 thousand, in direct conversion).
With a visual identity that breaks with the automaker’s global standards, the ID. Unyx 08 adopts minimalist lines and an optical set in split LEDs. The rear bets on clean surfaces and an illuminated logo, elements designed to meet the aesthetic preferences of the young Chinese consumer, distancing itself from the traditional conservatism of the German brand.

The utility is 5 meters long and has a wheelbase of 3.03 meters, dimensions that place it in one of the most competitive segments in the region. The mechanics offer two configurations: one with a 312 hp rear engine and another with all-wheel drive, which uses two engines to deliver a combined power of 502 hp.

Autonomy is one of the pillars of the project. Equipped with CATL batteries of up to 95 kWh, the SUV reaches 730 km in the Chinese cycle (CLTC). The fast charging system supports up to 315 kW, allowing it to recover 150 km of range in about five minutes. In addition to the hardware, the model incorporates Xpeng’s assisted driving system, operated by a high-performance chip that coordinates sensors and radars.
Internally, the ID. Unyx 08 prioritizes scanning with two 15″ screens and a compact digital panel. The cabin has seats equipped with massage and ventilation functions, as well as a center console with a refrigerated compartment, reinforcing the focus on comfort and technological expertise required by the local market.
