The Brazilian used vehicle market ended 2025 with the highest sales volume in its history. According to a balance sheet released by Fenauto (National Federation of Associations of Motor Vehicle Dealers), 18,508,929 units were sold throughout the year. The result represents a growth of about 17% compared to 2024, surpassing the previous mark and consolidating the best performance in the time series started in 2011.

The performance confirms the upward trajectory of the sector, which has been registering successive sales records. The month of December contributed decisively to the result, totaling 1,774,488 transfers of ownership — a volume higher than that of both November and December of the previous year. The increase in demand reflects the consumer’s search for alternatives to the zero-kilometer vehicle and the greater supply of credit in the period.

In the ranking of the most sought after models in December, old acquaintances of the Brazilian maintained their leadership. Among cars, the Volkswagen Gol remained at the top, followed by Chevrolet Onix and Hyundai HB20. In light commercial vehicles, Fiat Strada led, with Volkswagen Saveiro and Toyota Hilux completing the podium. In the two-wheel segment, the Honda CG 150, Biz and NXR 150 were the most traded. Among the heavy vehicles, the highlights were Volvo FH, Ford Cargo and Mercedes-Benz Atego.

For Everton Fernandes, newly elected president of Fenauto, the numbers reflect the maturity of the market. “We are reaping the fruits of an increasingly organized and essential sector for the turnover of the Brazilian economy,” said the leader in a statement.

Despite the euphoria with the 2025 numbers, the entity adopts caution for the next cycle. The year 2026 brings on the horizon typical uncertainties of the electoral calendar and the holding of the World Cup — events that traditionally affect the pace of trade. Even so, the federation’s expectation is to sustain the level of business, supported by the continuous need for mobility and the renewal of the national fleet.
