Uber and the GSH Group started, on Wednesday (11), a campaign to mitigate the drop in blood stocks that is usually accentuated in the country during Carnival. The application will offer vouchers of up to R$ 50 to pay for the travel of volunteers to the blood donation point. The campaign remains active until February 26 in ten Brazilian cities.

The strategy attacks a common logistical problem of the long holiday: the combination of the urban exodus, which empties blood centers, and the statistical increase in accidents on the roads, which puts pressure on hospital demand. According to the institution, the scenario is one of alert, as the drop in donations is significant precisely when the health network operates at maximum capacity for emergency care.

How to secure the discount

To attract donors, the partnership removes the barrier of transportation costs. However, the mechanics require attention: the discount is not automatically applied in the app. The interested donor must first access the campaign’s official website (www.grupogsh.com/boradoardeuber) and contact one of the participating units.

After this initial registration, the GSH Group provides an individual promo code. This code must be entered into the Uber app before requesting the ride. The benefit of R$ 50 can be used to cover the round trip, return or both segments, as long as the origin or destination is one of the accredited Blood Banks.

Participating cities

The action has national coverage, focusing on large capitals and strategic regional hubs. Included in the list are:

  • Southeast: São Paulo (SP), Santo André (SP), Ribeirão Preto (SP), Araçatuba (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and Petrópolis (RJ);
  • Northeast: Salvador (BA), Recife (PE) and Teresina (PI);
  • Midwest: Brasília (DF).

Vinicius Garcia, Capture and Marketing manager at the GSH Group, points out that corporate initiatives like this are essential to “ensure the maintenance of stocks and save lives” in critical periods.
