Title: Volkswagen Taos 2025 has a discount of R$ 22 thousand and is cheaper than T-Cross

With the arrival of restyling in stores, the automaker offers bonuses to zero stock of the medium SUV of the previous line, which brings equipment cut in 2026

The arrival at dealerships of the restyled Volkswagen Taos line created an unusual window of opportunity for the consumer. In an effort to spawn stocks of the previous model, the German automaker has started offering aggressive bonuses. The top-of-the-line Highline 2025 version, pre-facelift, can now be purchased for R$ 184.990 — a significant discount of R$ 22 compared to the R$ 209.990 asked for the updated 2026 model.

The offer, valid until February 28, creates a curious distortion in the brand’s portfolio: the zero-kilometer Taos Highline now costs less than its “smaller brother”, the T-Cross Highline, currently priced at R$ 196.290 and equipped with the same mechanical set.

Under the hood, both the previous stock and the restyled version share the renowned 1.4 TSI engine with 150 hp of power and 25,5 kgfm of torque. The transmission is the eight-speed AQ300 automatic, a novelty introduced just in the 2025 model year. The performance is similar: acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h occurs in 9.3 seconds in the 2025 line and in 9.0 seconds in the 2026. The consumption recorded by Inmetro with gasoline is 11.1 km/l in the urban cycle and 13.3 km/l on the highway.

Imported from Mexico, the medium SUV underwent mostly aesthetic changes at the turn of the year. The length has grown slightly, from 4.46 m to 4.47 m, while the width (1.84 m), height (1.63 m), wheelbase (2.68 m) and excellent trunk capacity (498 liters) remain unchanged.

In addition to financial savings, the purchase of the 2025 model embeds an advantage in the equipment package. The old Highline configuration comes standard with IQ smart headlights. Light, 19-inch alloy wheels, driver’s seat with electric adjustments, adaptive cruise control and blind spot alert. Counterintuitively, comfort and technology items, such as the semi-autonomous parking system and the heating of the front seats, were suppressed by Volkswagen in the 2026 lineup.

The current promotion also includes credit facilities: there is a zero-interest financing option, which requires a down payment of 60% (R$ 110,994) added to 24 fixed installments of R$ 3,254. In the end, the total cost of the installment operation presents a marginal and very attractive increase in relation to the cash payment.
