Developed in partnership with Toyota, the SUV has all-wheel drive, 426 hp and a range of more than 480 km
Recently, Subaru ended the sale of its cars in Brazil, but said it may return with 100% electric models. A new option for this return is the new Subaru Getaway, the fourth all-electric model and the brand’s first SUV equipped with three rows of seats. Developed in conjunction with Toyota — which will launch the Highlander EV equivalent — the SUV seeks to combine the tradition of all-wheel drive with the efficiency of long-range batteries, with a commercial debut scheduled for the end of 2026.
True to the manufacturer’s identity, the Getaway prioritizes off-road capability. The mechanical assembly consists of two electric motors that deliver 426 hp, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than five seconds. With 21 cm of ground clearance and a towing capacity of 1,588 kg, the model maintains performance attributes equivalent to those of large combustion SUVs.

The launch version uses a 95.8 kWh battery, guaranteeing a range of more than 480 km. In terms of recharging, the SUV supports up to 150 kW in direct current, which allows it to recover from 10% to 80% of energy in 30 minutes. A strategic decision by the brand was the native adoption of the NACS standard, granting owners direct access to Tesla’s network of chargers in the US. For 2027, an entry-level version with a 77 kWh battery is planned.

Despite the shared platform, the design preserves Subaru’s style, with illuminated logos and proprietary optics. Inside, the focus is on family comfort: the SUV accommodates up to seven passengers and offers three-zone air conditioning with exclusive outlets for the last row. The dashboard is equipped with a 14″ multimedia center and a 12.3″ digital instrument panel, completing the technological package with full connectivity.
