WRX and Levorg in special edition, competition models and manual transmission teasers mark Subaru's preview for the Japanese event
Subaru has anticipated part of its novelties for the 2026 Tokyo Motor Show (which opens its doors on January 9), with a focus on performance and drivability. In all, the brand has confirmed six vehicles for the event, divided equally between three special editions of production models and three cars developed for track and rally competitions.
Among the highlights are the WRX and the Levorg STI Sport R-Black Limited II STI Performance Edition, presented in the new Sunrise Yellow color. The models feature 18-inch matte black wheels, darkened exterior details and an interior with Recaro seats in yellow finish, black stitching and suede details. There are no confirmed mechanical changes, but both will receive STI Performance accessories and components.

Another confirmed model is the Impreza ST-H STI Performance Edition with Plus Package, based on the ST-H version and enhanced with STI performance parts. The unit on display will be black, with red interior details, and will be raffled off among visitors who participate in a survey during the event.
In the competition area, Subaru will present a new car for the 2026 Super Taikyu Series, powered by carbon-neutral fuel, as well as an updated version of the BRZ GT300, which returns to Super GT, and a WRX VBH rally, prepared for the Japanese Rally Championship.
The brand also released teasers that practically confirm the arrival of the WRX STI S4 with manual transmission to the Japanese market. The videos show the absence of CVT butterflies and the characteristic sound of manual gear shifting. Currently available with a manual transmission in markets such as the USA, Canada and Australia, the model should gain the same option in Japan in 2026, with more details to be revealed soon.
