The Internal Affairs Office of the Civil Police of São Paulo has opened an investigation to investigate the conduct of a delegate caught using a luxury vehicle seized in personal activities, according to SBT News. The car, valued at approximately R$ 200 thousand, was confiscated in November 2025 during an operation to combat drug trafficking in Diadema, in Greater São Paulo. Although the Court authorized the use of the asset by the corporation, the decision specified that the use should be restricted to investigations or criminal repression actions.

The evidence of irregular use was compiled by family members of one of the detainees in the operation, who monitored the vehicle through a tracking system. The data indicate that the delegate visited several residential addresses and that the car remained parked in front of his residence during the night. Additional footage shows the car parked in front of upscale restaurants and confirms the officer’s entry into a shopping mall during a Sunday afternoon.

Controversy and Defense

In an unusual move, the chief opened an investigation claiming to be the target of persecution by the family members of the investigated. In the piece, he used his own proof of entry into the shopping center to justify his location on the date in question, although the argument was interpreted by the complainants as a confessed confirmation of the use of the good for leisure purposes. The evidence sent to the Internal Affairs Office now supports the complaint of misuse of purpose and misuse of assets in the custody of the State.

The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) informed, through an official note, that the case is under rigorous investigation and that administrative and judicial sanctions will be applied if the irregularities are confirmed. The ministry reiterated that it does not tolerate misconduct among its agents.
